Platform one Recogni has developed an imaging card for its Scorpio AI chip for any autonomous system (writes Nick Flaherty). Scorpio is an AI inference chip with up to 1000 TOPS of performance for a range of autonomous mobility applications. The 25 W chip is mounted on a Pegasus PCI Express (PCIe) card, which has eight lanes of the fourth-generation standard. Each lane runs at 2 gigatransfers per second, with each transfer being 4 kbytes. This gives an overall data rate of 16 gigatransfers per second for the rest of the system. vulnerable road user detection, lane detection, free space detection, and traffic light/sign detection. Unlike traditional solutions that are based on legacy technology and repurposed for the monumental task of AI perception processing for autonomous mobility, Recogni’s system is purposebuilt to provide the performance and low power required for autonomous mobility. From last pixel out to perception results takes less than 10 ms on the Scorpio chip. This provides ample reaction time for the car to navigate safely. Image processing Imaging for any system The card uses the MIPI-CSI2 protocol, which supports four image data lanes and with each lane capable of transferring data up to 2.5 Gbit/s. These connect via an image signal processor and a deserialiser to a Fachkreis Automobil (Automobile Expert Group) Fakra telematics connector that provides a 6 Gbit/s bandwidth. Recogni’s software development kit is used to convert, compile, profile and deploy models that can detect objects at distances of up to 300 m. Perception output includes 3D object detection, The PCIe card can process up to four 8 MP cameras to provide frontal and surrounding views for a vehicle Not enough hours in the day?
